Just a quick note to say thank you to Justin for his tour of the Colosseum and the ancient city. Justin's knowledge of ancient Rome, not just the historical, but also the social and the political context, really made the tour, and the city, come to life. How someone could know so much information was just unbelieveable! Many thanks.

I took 2 walks while in Rome March 29 & 30th. The Sunset walk with Greg was just the best tour I have ever taken. Greg is so very personable and knows just about everything about Rome and it's history and its buildings. I learned so much during those 2 hours. The next day I did the Jewish Ghetto again, my guide was Greg. We covered so much ground in 3 hours but it seemed to go by so quickly since he made it so much fun as well as educational. I will most definitely book another tour with you when I return to Rome and, in the meantime, will recommend your tours to everyone. Thank you so much.

We read about Rome Walks! in Rick Steves’ book before our trip to Italy; however, we ended up booking a tour of the Vatican City with Rome Walks! on Tuesday for the following Thursday (our last day in Rome). And you were able to fit us in! The strategic timing of the tour was perfect so that while we probably couldn’t avoid crowds at the Vatican entirely, we were able to navigate the place easily and yet were never rushed, and still got to see what was important to us (and things we didn’t realize were important to us;) ). Greg was a fantastic and interesting tour guide. I actually pitied the other visitors who weren’t in our group (boring!). We had no idea that we would learn so much without even knowing it. Greg brought the history to life and his enthusiasm about the art really caught on. I cannot imagine seeing the Vatican without such a knowledgeable guide who made seeing such a huge and insurmountable place fun, fascinating and so memorable.

23/03/2008 - Thomas O'Connor, United States

I had a great tour of the Vatican with Justin on March 20. He took the time to thoroughly explain the high points of the Museum and Basilica, and had the ready knowledge to navigate questions. I recommend this tour to all visitors.

18/03/2008 - John and Lindsey, United States

We did a walking tour through Rome with Justin from Toronto. From the start it was as interesting as it was informative. Justin had an great depth to his knowledge and clearly enjoyed subject of both Roman and Catholic history himself. He took us to some places we would never have gone ourselves and gave great information with regards to both the origins and the meaning of the places we visited. As a former college history student I was greatly impressed the Justin didn't just gloss over the basics, but made it interesting while providing detail. I would recommend taking a tour with him to anyone visiting Rome. Thanks!

18/03/2008 - Matt & Finnah, United States

Thanks to Julia for a great tour of the Vatican. She was informative and fun! Also, thank you for the all the staff who accomadated us on such short notice.

13/03/2008 - Sarah, United States

Our Rome Walks tours were a great experience for my friend, Mom, and I. We had Julia guiding us both times, and greatly her enjoyed her (usually) funny jokes, knowledge of the sites and history, and energetic character. We will certainly be recommending Rome Walks to all friends traveling to Rome in the future. Thanks so much! P.S. Julia - Sarah and I made it home just fine, we lived quite close. It was great seeing you again, even at that point, and I really appreciate your caring. Thanks again.

18/02/2008 - Mike and Karen O'Keefe, United States

I would like to thank you for making my 50th birthday truely memorable. Greg's humor and historical insightfulness made the Vatican tour come alive.

12/02/2008 - John & Andrea, United Kingdom

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of the Coliseum and Palatine/Forum and learnt a great deal. We would like to say a big thank you to Julia for her wonderful knowledge, sense of humour and passion for Roman history. Also please thank her for her restaurant recommendation - excellent choice. Highly recommended.

12/02/2008 - Melissa, Italy

I just wanted to say that Greg is an excellent guide! I was down in Rome with my 7 year old and my parents late Nov. 2007. We really enjoyed both tours we took of the Ancient City and the Vatican. My young daughter loved the history and that we had plenty of time to take pictures. Greg was absolutely wonderful, and never made us feel rushed through any of the areas. In fact we were there far longer than the tour was estimated to take. It was extremely memorable. Being stationed here in Italy, all our friends eventually make their way down to Rome and we refer them all to RomeWalks! Thank you!!

10/02/2008 - Jeff & Kandice Tjebkes, United States

We just completed three tours with Greg with Rome Walks tours. Greg is a fantastic guide and teacher. We both learned so much from Greg about the history of Rome, art, architecture, and religion, among other things. Our three tours (Twilight Rome, Vatican, and Colosseum/Forum) were all unique except that Greg was an expert in the subject matter in each of the tours. For us the pace of the tours was perfect. It was hard for us to select a walking tour company before traveling to Rome, but I know now that our choice was a good one, Rome Walks is an excellent choice.

16/01/2008 - Rob & Carol Humphreys, Australia

Annie, we loved the walks and also were very appreciative of Julia's knowledge, her obvious enthusiasm and her sense of humour. She brought Rome alive for us, and we will forever think of Roman history in a different light. We would recommend your organisation to anyone visiting Rome, and hope to visit again someday not too far away.

07/01/2008 - Chris Pitre, Canada

Your tours were wonderful. Walking through the Roman Forum and Colosseum with Greg, seeing the Sistine Chapel and other Vatican sights with Lauren ... for us, your guides truly added to the wonders of Rome.

14/12/2007 - Jim Bedus, United States

We would like to thank your service for the wonderful tours in Rome. Julia led us through the Vatican and Coliseum Walks with charm and personality that made the two days of tours a great learning experience and a lot of fun. On the third day we had the pleasure of being educated and entertained by Gregory who made the Early Christian and Catacombs Walk a most memorable day. We have been fortunate to have visited Rome on a number of occasions but this was the most fun trip yet do in large part to Julia and Gregory. We can't wait to return.

11/12/2007 - Melody Williams, United States

We were in Rome November 18-21 and took 4 amazing tours with your company. Julia is extremely knowledgeable, and she has a passionate and entertaining way of expressing that knowledge. The small group size is wonderful and allows for questions from all in the group. Even though we created problems for you...one morning the other couple in our group over slept, the next morning 3 of us in our group got lost on the way to the meeting place...Julia was there for us. I cannot thank you enough for your patience, and for the wonderful service you provide. I have told all of our friends about Rome Walks, and I have written a review on TripAdvisor.com. Please let Julia know how much we enjoyed her tours. Thank you.

08/12/2007 - Bea Drehwing, United States

I just wanted to say that your guides were both very informative and nice to be with. We had 5 children and they really kept our interest even when we got hot and tired from walking. Julia and Justin were wonderful!!

30/11/2007 - Kelly Grant, United States

On November 15th we took a tour of the Coliseum and the ruins with Greg. My husband and I had a wonderful time and learned so many new things! This was our first day of the trip and for the remainder of the trip we were re-telling each other information we learned from Greg. Thank you so much!!

18/11/2007 - Martha Nelson, United States

I wanted to thank you for the wonderful private tour we had with Greg on July 12th. I know that he felt he rushed us through some of the sites but it was perfect for us, given that we had never been to Rome and only had a few hours to see the city. Please convey our thanks to him and let him know that the information that he gave us at each of the sites was very helpful in understanding the historical significance of what we were seeing. Even though it was quick, we have retained much of the background which really enhanced our experience. I have recommended Rome Walks to many others as a result. Thank you.

26/10/2007 - Margaret (Peggy) Schipke, United States

I would like to thank you for your wonderul service. We had to cancel our tour on 10/19 because of the downpour. My husband's walking cast was drenched. You allowed us to rebook and we had a wonderful tour with Julia, on 10/24. She was a wonderful tour guide! We thouroughly enjoyed it. She was knowledgeable, fun and did a wonderful job in crowd control while we were in line to go through security. Thank you so much.

24/10/2007 - Leigh Anne Farrell, United States

What a fantastic tour! It was my second time on the exact same two tours with Greg, and I learned even more than before. I only wish he did the forum/coliseum tour as well; he is an additional reason we go back to Italy; entertainment with a Boston accent!Keep up the great work- I recommend Romewalks to all- including Rick Steves,From-mers and Foeders. Grazie! Will be back in '09!

23/10/2007 - Tom Wolfendale, United States

Thank you again for the walks. I took three of them; two with Julia and one with Danielle. Both guides are excellent: articulate, knowledgeable and personable. I will report my very positive reactions to Rick Steves. Julia indicated that I could stay in touch through your office. Julia, Simone at Le Fric could not have been nicer and the food was wonderful and the art work curious and amusing. While I very much enjoyed the tuna fillet, if you like sushi, I recommend that you find a place that will sear grill sushimi grade tuna so that the inside is raw, but with that grade of tuna it melts in the mouth. Thanks again for great walks. Others that I spoke with from the groups share my feelings. Best to all

23/10/2007 - Andrew Reicher, United Kingdom

Dear Annie, Now that we are back in familiar London the magical four days we have had in Rome seem like something of a dream. That we enjoyed ourselves so much was very significantly a result of the three tours we took. Please pass thanks from me, Hilary and Isabel to Julia, Daniella and Greg for their friendly, knowledgeable, stimulating and enjoyable introductions. They made what is for them routine very fresh for us. And thanks to you for organising it so efficiently. I very much hope we will be able to come back for more before long. Warm regards, Andrew

17/10/2007 - Read and Margie Mecleary, United States

Buon giorno Just a quick note to thank you for a fabulous tour! Our guide, Guen, was nothing short of sensational. Probably the best walking tour & definitely the best guide we have ever enjoyed. Thank you. We will definitely recommend you to any friends headed this way. Ciao

15/10/2007 - Sylvia & Larry Mangan, United States

Dear Rome Walks: We just returned from our first trip to Italy, and Rome was our last but one of the most memorable destinations on our trip. We had Julia as our tour guide for the Colisseum and the Vatican. She was a delight! She is very well educated, qualified, friendly, and packed full of knowledge re: Italy and the sights we visted. We especially enjoyed the Colliseum walk as we were a small group, and the crowds were not bad, so we could hear and ask questions. She did a marvelous job at the Vatican as well, but unfortunately the crowds were way too much for comfortable viewing of the Sistine Chapel. Julia did a superb job filling us with facts while we had to stand in long lines and for a long time. Please let her know how much we enjoyed her as a guide.

10/10/2007 - Pieter Booth, United States

Dear Rome Walks: My wife and I just returned from our first trip to Italy to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. One of the last things we did was a Vatican Museum walking tour in Rome with Lauren. The tour was well organized, on time, and delivered more than I could have ever expected. Lauren was amazingly knowledgeable about art, art history, and the "political" history of the Vatican and the Church itself. She crammed the entire four hours with tons of informative and fun facts delivered in a personable style. I couldn't have learned more from an intensive college level seminar series. Thanks for an unforgettable experience.

07/10/2007 - Wayland, United States

I went on the Vatican City tour with three friends this past week, and I think it was the best part of my Italian vacation. Greg was absolutely fabulous as a tour guide. We went on Wednesday, so we were able to see the Pope come out for the Papal Audience and then we started our tour. The size of the group was perfect, and we met some great people in our group. Greg provided a ton of information not only on Vatican City but also on Rome and the history of the city as well. He is very talented AND he enjoys art and history which makes the tour even better. Thank you to Rome Walks and especially to Greg for a great tour!

07/09/2007 - Kathy, United States

Justin provided an amazing tour of the Vatican Museum. He had so much information to share with us (2 adults & 2 16 year olds). We all had a much greater appreciation of the sights we saw as a result of his expertise. Thank you.

20/08/2007 - Susanne Adamson, Calgary Alberta, Canada

Dear Rome Walks, We are now back from our trip to Italy. I thought I would write you and let you know how wonderful both our tours were. We did the Vatican tour with Dustin and the Coliseum/Forum with Maria. Both guides were excellent. Our groups were small, making it much easier to hear and follow the tour. Overall, it was an excellent experience and I would recommend Rome Walks to anyone I knew, who was headed to Rome. Thank you

18/08/2007 - AJ and Alyssa, United States

We just returned from Rome, and wanted to give a HUGE thanks to Rome Walks. We took 3 tours, with Maria, Greg and Gwen. An extra special thanks to Greg for letting me know that Grillo = Cricket! :) And to Gwen, whose tour was excellent. We really enjoyed that the tours weren't very big, which allowed it to be a personable, and enjoyable learning experience!

10/08/2007 - Bill & Judy Balch, United States

To Rome Walks and Julia, Our party of five did a Rome Walks tour on July 7, 2007. This tour began with the Vatican Museums and culminated in St. Peter's Basilica. This tour was magnificent and lived up to expectations. Our guide Julia was very knowledgeable of art, architecture, history and language. Further Julia had an ability to communicate all this information in a clear and intertaining manner. In fact, she is quite witty. If we ever return to Rome I would want to do another tour with Julia as our guide. One thing we learned was that for us it would have been better to do this door later in the day. Over two hours in a very long line under a very hot sun was more than we had expected. But again, once we were through the line, we began a tour that was memorable. And again, thank you Julia. You were outstanding!

10/07/2007 - Debbie and Marty Gertler, United States

We can't imagine having had a better tour of the Vatican than the one provided by Spring on Saturday, June 23. What a treat! She was knowledgeable, engaging and conveyed her own enthusiasm for the Vatican and its collections that could be felt by our entire family. I have already recommended Rome Walks and Spring in particular to others who I know will be traveling to Rome. And, we will definitely contact you again on our next visit to the Eternal City. Thanks for a wonderful experience.

28/06/2007 - Maria, United States

We are just back from our vacation and just wanted to let you know that we very much enjoyed the tours we had of the Colosseum/Ancient City with Daniel & the Vatican with Fabio. They were both so knowledgable & good with our kids. It's so much more interesting when you know what you are looking at. Definitely a first class tour. Grazie.

10/06/2007 - Alan and Susan Woodyard, United States

Thank your Rome Walks for making our short stay in Rome so eventful. Julietta, Our guide to the Vatican and St. Peter's, was terrifically knowledgable, insightful, patient, and efficient. The use of the 'whisperers' to hear the commentary in the crowds was a new and clever technological addition for us. Our second walk with Nicoletta of the Palantine Hill and the Colosseum was challenged but not defeated by rain and puddles. Because of the weather our group was four people which meant all our questions and interests were satisfied. We will not hesitate to use your services again. Houston, TX

30/05/2007 - Mary and Carl Marquardsen, United States

Dear Rome Walks, We've just come back from Italy and while the memories are still fresh we want to thank you for the Jewish Ghetto & Trastevere walk and the Vactican City Walk with Greg and the Colosseum/Forum/Palatine Walk with Carla. We learned, we enjoyed and we walked. We will highly recommend your operation to our friends. Thank you for running a first class tour company.

22/05/2007 - John Sisley, United States

I would like to tell you what a wonderful tour Simona gave the four of us at Ostia Antica. She was a very friendly and relaxed and had a great way of presenting history. I know that she is getting an advanced degree in archeology but she is also a great teacher!

20/05/2007 - Bob and Jacque Leedom, United States

What a shock to read your feedback page and discover that it was not just our incredible luck that we had two fantastic guides for our walks--apparently ALL of your guides are wonderful! We were informed and entertained by Antoinella on Tuesday and Greg on Wednesday. They had two completely different styles, but both were equally effective. A major selling point of your "product" is your limiting the group size to ten or fewer people; it felt like a private tour. That, plus your collection of top-notch guides, will put Rome Walks high on our list of recommendations to anyone who asks us, "What should we do in Rome?" Thanks!

05/05/2007 - Pat and Bob Morris, United States

Dear Rome walks, Wanted to take a second to thank you and especially our guide, Sara, for enhancing our trip to Rome by so much. We learned so much of Roman history on the tour - and Sara knew the answer (in detail) to any and all of our questions about ancient Rome. We'll be recommending the Coloseum walk to all of our friends who visit Rome. Thanks.

26/04/2007 - Allan, Charmaine & Gianna Cruet, United States

This is a highly underrated tour! Our tour guide was animated and informative, and we had a thoroughly enjoyable evening walk through Rome. There is no way we could have fully appreciated the sights she exposed us to, without the details she provided. Her passion for art history lent to our appreciation of the history behind each site. The cost of this tour is a bargain versus the experience! We thank you for a great tour, in a small sized group.

20/02/2007 - Angela Carrales, United States

Dear Julia and Rome Walks, Wanted to thank you personally for being our tour guide on 3 wonderful walks last week in Rome: 1) Colosseum, Palatine Hill, Forum, 2) Evening Walk, 3) Vatican Walk. Our trip was enhanced so much by your in-depth knowledge and information that you shared with us. Your passion and zeal for Rome certainly rubbed off on us. You were a delightful guide and we (Beth, Patricia and Angela) enjoyed the tours immensely. I would highly recommend Rome Walks to other friends travelling to Rome.

17/02/2007 - Margaret Brennan, United States

Dear Rome Walks, Just want to let you know that my husband and I greatly enjoyed our Feb 13 & Feb 14. Gwen was a great guide for both walks. Keep up the good work. Best, Margaret

31/01/2007 - Karen & Joe Hague, United States

My husband and I just returned from a wonderful 2 weeks in Italy. While in Rome, we went on 3 of your guided walks - the Jewish Ghetto & Trestavere, the Vatican, and the Forum & Coliseum. We wanted to let you know that all 3 walks were fabulous and mainly so because of the guides that we had. For the first 2 (Jewish Ghetto & Vatican) we had Kristine, and for the Forum & Coliseum we had Karla. Both were very knowledgeable, very interesting and fun. We just wanted to say that we very much enjoyed the tours and these 2 women as our guides. Please pass along our thanks to them again for helping to make our Rome visit so enjoyable. We have already shared your company (and recommended Kristine & Karla) to several of our friends who are planning Rome visits in the next year. Thanks again, Karen & Joe Hague San Francisco, California

I did two tours with Julia in the last two days. I must say they were great. I certainly got a lot more information from her than any book could give me. She's very enjoyable to listen to and she has an incredible amount of information about the sites.

26/11/2006 - Margaret McCulla, United States

I wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed the three tours we took through your company in Rome in November 2006. One was with Cynthia (Night Walk) and the next (Colosseum and Forum) was with Julia. We enjoyed Julia so much that we asked to be on her next tour.
